International Fire Fighter Unions Formalize Global Alliance
In furtherance of the resolution passed at the
IAFF 48th Biennial Convention in Toronto, IAFF General President
Harold Schaitberger and IAFF District Vice Presidents Louie
Wright and Mike Mullane participated in meetings in New Zealand
in November to continue to formalize the International Fire
Fighter Unions Global Alliance with the IAFF, United
Firefighters Union of Australia, New Zealand Professional
Firefighters Union and the Fire Brigades Union of the United
Kingdom.
The alliance, which will bring together unions
representing nearly 350,000 of the world's fire fighters, will
allow these unions and other international fire fighter unions
that wish to join in the future to more effectively battle their
employers, who have been meeting for years, sharing information
that helps them work against fire fighters.

 Convention Delegates Move to Create Global Alliance With Other Fire Unions
August 29, 2006 - Convention delegates Monday approved a resolution allowing the International Association of Fire Fighters to formalize a strategic global alliance with other fire service unions across the globe.
